As you may know, we regularly conduct surveys to try and align our product development with the needs of our customers. Several years ago, we noticed that our customers were requesting alternate and easy ways to get funds in and (in particular) out of their margin accounts. We started researching the issue and developed the Zions Debit Card and Rewards Card programs. Ultimately we had intended to provide a solution to all of our customers in every country. However, banking regulations are complex and our solutions have only been open to US customers, until now.
Many potential partners and nearly 2 years later, we are very pleased to announce the Global Debit Card. This is a prepaid MasterCard solution that will be available for all of our customers. Now, a customer on the other side of our fine planet can request funds to be withdrawn to the card and in as little as a day walk down to the ATM and pull out their cash. Alternately, the customer can leave funds on the card and swipe like a regular Debit Card. We have had customers testing our card for a few months now, and have had successful reports from China to Israel.

I am particularly pleased with this solution, since I was involved in trying to launch it. I know how difficult it has been to find this solution. I have little doubt that others will follow our path, however our customers know that we have blazed this particular path searching for a solution for them.
